After weeks of teasing an appearance at WrestleMania, CM Punk finally cleared the air on Raw this week. Despite being injured, the Best in the World showed up at WWE’s flagship show in his hometown, Chicago, IL. The show was jam packed and arguably one of the best Raw episodes in quite some time. While the WWE Universe was expecting Phil to host ‘Mania 40, he revealed a completely different role.

There’s no doubt that there is huge animosity between Drew McIntyre, Seth “Freakin” Rollins, and Punk. The Second City Saint announced that, despite not being a part of Rollins vs. McIntyre, he’ll be the special guest commentator for the match. However, the Chicago crowd was deafening when they expressed their desire for the local boy to be the official referee for the match.

The wrestling veteran was ready to officiate the match with his left hand, due to his right triceps being injured. However, it does not seem to be the case now. All three men took shots at each other until things got physical. Rollins stomped The Scottish Warrior and headed backstage, showing disinterest towards Punk, who was standing on the ramp.

It can’t be denied that the Straight Edge Superstar is a huge draw for the WWE. Therefore, with the biggest PLE of the year approaching, WWE has somehow managed to book him for the show. Earlier, Punk was supposed to be involved in the same match he’ll be commentating on. Unfortunately, his triceps injury forced WWE to steer the direction.

CM Punk takes shots at Vince McMahon live on Raw

Since sidelining CM Punk, Drew McIntyre has continuously taken shots at him. From playing the 5-time WWE Champion’s music to upset fans to wearing t-shirts mocking him, The Scottish Psychopath always messes with him. On Raw this week, The Savior of WrestleMania stated how he prayed for everything that has happened for Punk.

The 2-time WWE Champion further boasted about how he is “The Chosen One.” The Best in the World immediately responded by asking who named him that. This caused the 38-year-old Superstar to break character and burst into laughter. For those unaware, former WWE and TKO Executive Chairman, Vince McMahon gave McIntyre the nickname during his first run.

Since Mr. McMahon’s departure amid the s*x trafficking allegations lawsuit, WWE has tried their best to completely erase both Vince and Brock Lesnar, the latter who happens to be involved in the case. So, it was interesting to have a WWE Superstar refer to their former boss live on WWE programming. With WrestleMania XL less than 2 weeks away, fans can’t wait to enjoy the stupendous weekend.
