JBL is known for being a bully in the backstage area. He recently declared that the former Royal Rumble winner and his wife are two of his favourite people in the entire world.

JBL often makes the list of the top heels of all time in the industry. The former WWE Champion retired from wrestling in 2009, with his last singles match being at WrestleMania 25. He was defeated by Rey Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship. JBL’s most recent wrestling match, however, would be the 2014 Royal Rumble. He entered at No. 24 but was eliminated by Roman Reigns in under a minute.

Ever since his retirement in 2009, JBL has been involved in commentating. The former WWE Champion was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2021 and has been appearing sporadically since 2017. He cited a desire to do humanitarian work as the reason for leaving commentary. However, JBL returned to the WWE in September 2022 as Baron Corbin’s manager.

Baron Corbin, who was a failure, was resurrected by JBL after he took him under his wing. Thereafter, Corbin ditched the Happy Corbin gimmick and debuted with the Modern-Day Wrestling God moniker.

Corbin was undefeated in his first several matches until Drew McIntyre ended his streak. However, Corbin hasn’t been effective with the gimmick, and the two aren’t yet part of an interesting storyline. Recently, Corbin was defeated by Kevin Owens on the January 9th edition of RAW.

JBL was recently spotted at the NWA Comic Con and clicked with WWE Hall of Famer Hacksaw Jim Duggan and his wife. The picture was shared by Dugan on his Twitter account. JBL responded to it by writing, “Love Hacksaw!! And Mrs Saw! Two of my favorite people in the world.”

JBL is well known for being a bully in the locker room. The WWE Hall of Famer is known to have bullied many young talents like The Miz, Rene Dupree, The Blue Meanie, and commentator Mauro Ranallo. Ranallo even quit WWE due to the former WWE Champion’s bullying.

The most famous incident of JBL’s bullying would be when he targeted ECW wrestler Blue Meanie at the One Night Stand PPV. Even though The Blue Meanie defeated The Former WWE Champion, ‘The Wrestling God’ busted him open.

However, it is said that JBL’s bullying activities stopped when he was confronted by Joey Styles backstage. Former WWE commentator Joey Styles stood up to the Hall of Famer’s bullying, giving ‘The Wrestling God’ a black eye.

Rene Dupree stated on a recent edition of Café de Rene that ever since the incident, the WWE Hall of Famer would just sit in the corner with his laptop and not talk to anyone.

“Okay, I wasn’t there but from what I heard he would just sit in a corner on his laptop wouldn’t talk to nobody. Yeah, he got f**king embarrassed like a motherf**ker. Jesus, when I heard that story I was like, I felt like, ‘Wow, you got put in your place,’ you know,”

JBL, however, has shown no remorse for his bullying. It seems like the on-screen heel was indeed a heel in real life for some of the talents in the company. With him now being a part of the WWE again, it would be interesting to see what JBL and Baron Corbin have in store for the WWE Universe in the future.
