“I am going with the…”- WWE Hall of Famer picks a winner between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns at SummerSlam

Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns Confront each other on June 17th edition of SmackDown

Brock Lesnar recently appeared on this week’s SmackDown and right away attacked Theory by delivering him an F-5 and then repeatedly smashing him with a briefcase. Brock Lesnar will face Roman Reigns for the WWE Undisputed Championship at SummerSlam on this Saturday. Brock has competed in 10 SummerSlam Live events and this would be the 11th time he would be a part of the event. Lesnar’s first Championship win in WWE was at the SummerSlam 2002, where he beat The Rock for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Since SummerSlam 2002, Brock Lesnar has beaten Triple H at SummerSlam 2012, CM Punk in 2013, John Cena in 2014, Randy Orton in 2016 and won the Fatal Four-way Match against Braun Strowman, Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe at 2017 SummerSlam. Brock Lesnar has an advantage over Roman Reigns in this case but Brock hasn’t competed in a Last Man Standing match in his career. Roman Reigns has competed in a Last Man Standing match twice in his career, most recently against Kevin Owens at the Royal Rumble 2021.

Roman Reigns defeated John Cena at SummerSlam 2021 and retained the Universal Championship. On September 10th edition of SmackDown Brock Lesnar Challenged Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship, which Roman accepted. On September 16th, WWE then announced that a bout between Roman and Brock would take place at the crown jewel but didn’t mention anything about the Championship as Roman was about to defend his title against Finn Balor at Extreme Rules.

Roman successfully defended his title against Balor and the match against Lesnar was confirmed to be for the Universal Championship. At the event Roman Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar and retained the Universal Championship. Thereafter he defeated Lesnar at WrestleMania 38 in a winner takes all match. So, the winner in the last two matches involving Roman and Brock is Roman Reigns.

WWE Hall of Famer JBL weighed in on the Last Man Standing encounter between Lesnar and Reigns. He stated that he finds it difficult to think that one of these men will remain down for a ten count. JBL said that picking a winner is difficult for him and that he has known Brock Lesnar since his debut and that Roman Reigns’ level of domination has been seen since Bruno Sammartino, but he believes Brock Lesnar will win this match.

“Holy cow, it’s hard to believe that either of these giants are gonna stay down for ten-count. I have a hard time believing which one’s gonna lose this, but somebody is. I have seen Brock Lesnar since he first came in. Roman Reigns, we haven’t seen dominance like that since Bruno Sammartino. I am going with the Beast Incarnate here to upset, I don’t know if it’s upset or not, but to take the title from the Head of the Table.”

SummerSlam will take place on this Saturday at Nissan Stadium, Nashville, Tennessee.
