Jeff Hardy is one of the most iconic names in the world of pro wrestling. Hardy returned to AEW on April 12, 2023, after a long hiatus. However, this week on AEW Rampage, the fans finally got to hear him for the first time since the arrest. The 45-year-old took the fans on a roller coaster ride of emotions when he spoke about his retirement during his promo.
The AEW fans gave a warm reception to Jeff Hardy on his return to the promotion this week. Hardy, who has been away for a while, finally made his comeback to the world of pro wrestling, leaving the fans exhilarated. On his return to AEW Rampage, The Enigmatic Charisma cut a promo in the middle of the ring, interacting with the fans in the arena.
Jeff Hardy began his promo by greeting the fans and saying that it’s “super cool” to be back in the “elite world.” He said that nine months ago he felt implausible about stepping foot again in pro wrestling. Furthermore, The Enigmatic Soul stated that he worked so hard to reach the point where he is right now.

Hardy shocked the world when he said, “The smartest thing for me is to retire.” As a result, the fans were totally stunned, leaving the arena in melancholy.
However, Jeff Hardy, after a brief pause, completed his sentence. Stating about his retirement, he specifically mentioned that he is planning to retire from screwing up. As a result, the 45-year-old filled the arena with exuberance and vivacity. Jeff Hardy went on to say that he would love to end his career on an “extremely high note.”
WWE veteran criticized Jeff Hardy’s return
Jeff Hardy’s return to AEW has been one of the most notable things in recent times. Despite being a prominent name, Hardy has been involved in controversy throughout his career. He was arrested last year on DUI charges and sent to rehab. However, the Enigmatic Charisma returned to pro wrestling this year.
During the “Storytime with Dutch Mantell“ podcast, WWE veteran Dutch Mantell criticized Jeff Hardy’s return. He said that Hardy wouldn’t stop drinking, even though he claimed to.
