Lewd Jerry “The King” Lawler once BEGGED WWE Hall of Famer to put Trish Stratus’ undergarment on eBay on Raw
WWE Veteran Jerry Lawler made numerous inappropriate calls during his commentary for female wrestlers in the Attitude Era.

The Attitude Era was one of the wildest times to be a wrestling fan. Due to the lack of restrictions from the broadcasters, WWE had the liberty to show anything on their shows during the early 2000s. On a random episode of Raw, WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler made some ill comments regarding former Women’s Champions Trish Stratus and Molly Holly.
During a segment, Trish Stratus beat down Molly Holly with her championship. To add insult to injury, Stratus then stripped off her underwear and threw it on Holly’s face as the crowd popped hard. This was normal at the time, as WWE had not gone PG-13 by then. However, Lawler’s commentary makes the scene obscene, as he gets excited seeing Stratus take her pants off.
He even shouts into the mic for someone to take those pants and give them to him. He then asks Molly Holly to put the underwear on eBay so that he can buy it. The commentary was distasteful and would face severe backlash by today’s standards. However, it was common during the Attitude Era for wrestlers and superstars to lust over female superstars on the show.
The angle came during the feud between Trish Stratus and Molly Holly, who were fighting over the Women’s Championship. The two fought for the title at Unforgiven 2002, as Stratus defeated Molly in a short match. Despite being decent wrestlers, they were not given enough time, as this was a trend before 2015 for women’s wrestling.

Vince McMahon made Trish Stratus bark like a dog in the ring
Trish Stratus has been subjected to a lot of questionable segments during the Attitude Era, as she was the top female superstar of the time. One of the most notoriously memorable segments for Stratus was the time when the former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon made her walk and bark like a dog in the ring.
During an episode of Raw, McMahon tried to fire Trish Stratus if she did not obey his orders. Vince made her strip and kneel in the ring. He also made her bark like a dog in the mic as the crowd cheered for her embarrassment. The segment was extremely distasteful for the WWE Hall of Famer and is often ignored by WWE while looking back at Stratus’ career.
As the years went by, the treatment of women wrestlers improved a lot, and in 2023, they were portrayed as juggernauts of the company. The female wrestlers have also been featured in the main event matches for multiple events. The most notable was the main event of WrestleMania 35, where Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey headlined the Showcase of the Immortals.
