WWE Hall of Famer reveals that he didn’t wanted Brock Lesnar to receive push after his debut
Brock Lesnar in the WWE
Brock Lesnar has been a dominant performer since his debut in the WWE. Brock Lesnar has proved himself that he is one of the greatest wrestlers ever to set foot in the squared circle. Though the beast incarnate was never good on mic, he always made sure to put on a great show and played his character very well.
Brock Lesnar’s bouts are raw and make the spectator experience the emotions. Recently, The Beast Incarnate competed against The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns in a last Man Standing match at SummerSlam and was defeated by Reigns at the event.
Brock Lesnar is not slated to appear in the WWE this year, with him being advertised for Day 1 event next year. This year he managed to win the WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber but lost it to Reigns at WrestleMania 38. This was the only championship win of Brock Lesnar this year.
The Beast has been a professional wrestler for nearly 20 years and is the youngest WWE Champion in WWE history. The Beast incarnate had won it less than six months after his debut, defeating the company’s then-biggest star, The Rock. Lesnar had gained the trust of Vince McMahon so much that he received an instant push in the company, which is a very rare thing.
Recently, Jim Ross spoke on the push that Lesnar received instantly in his career. Ross said that he didn’t feel that Lesnar was ready to perform in the ring and doubted that Brock Lesnar was capable of protecting his opponents in the ring. Ross recalls telling Vince McMahon to avoid giving Brock the push in the WWE. Nevertheless The Beast Incarnate went on to become one of the greatest wrestlers of all time and is absolutely safe and professional in the ring.
“I put the kibosh on bringing him into TV several months before that because I didn’t think he was ready in the ring and could do a better job protecting his adversaries. He was just so big and strong, and he had to figure out how to channel that. I went and sat down with Vince and said, ‘He’s not ready for TV. I’m not so sure he can protect his opponent to the level he needs to, especially in this environment.”
