Last year, Vince McMahon was accused by Janel Grant of sexual misconduct, so she filed a lawsuit against him. In response, John Cena made controversial comments that did not sit well with the fans. Now, WWE legend, Dutch Mantell has weighed in on the 16-time-world champion’s remarks and offered his perspective on the situation.
Dutch Mantell shared his thoughts on what John Cena said about Vince McMahon’s legal trouble in a recent interview with Smack Talk. The former WWE manager thinks the leader of Cenation should have just said he wished the situation hadn’t happened. He thought Cena was trying to say that he still appreciates McMahon for helping him make a lot of money, even though he doesn’t like what happened. Mantell didn’t seem sure of Cena’s exact meaning, but thought he should have kept it simple and just regretted it.
John Cena expressed his support for Vince McMahon, stating that he still considers McMahon his friend. The former acknowledged that McMahon has faced challenges but emphasized that he is there to support him whenever he needs it.
Maybe not distance himself from Vince, but here he’s saying, I don’t know what he’s saying, to tell you the truth, you can put any kind of damn explanation to it you want. What he’s trying to say is, ‘I wish this hadn’t have happened. This is not the Vince I love. Vince made me 30 million or 40 or 50 million dollars, so I appreciate him there.Dutch Mantell via Smack Talk
Vince McMahon’s legal problems led him to resign from TKO’s board. The lawsuit also involved Brock Lesnar‘s name. Even McMahon’s boss, John Laurinaitis, was also initially implicated, but later he issued a statement trying to distance himself from the case.
