“They hated each other” Former WWE writer reveals John Cena and CM Punk had a genuine dislike for one another during their feud in 2011

CM Punk and John Cena feuding for a single WWE title
John Cena and CM Punk are the two major stars in the history of WWE, in 2011 both of these legends collide and that feud was the best feud ever in the WWE. This feud blurred the line between the scripted WWE and the real world and the best part of this whole feud was when we got to see the pipebomb promo delivered by one of the best wrestlers on mic CM Punk.
John Cena was at that time untouchable and was on a dominant run in WWE he beats every single superstar who came in his way and was in the Super Cena form in which even Brock Lesnar failed to pin him in their infamous match at Extreme Rules. On the other hand, CM Punk was one of the talented superstars who was not getting pushed due to John Cena and was frustrated.

CM Punk was very savage at that time and even was taking the real names of wrestlers like Triple H and himself. CM Punk even had the best run of his career during this time as he was also getting a lot of audience behind him and he even pinned John Cena cleanly in their match to find the true champion of WWE.
Recently in an interview former WWE writer Freddie Prinze, Jr revealed that there was real heat between the two superstars at that time. He said that once Triple H said to him someday as they both are different and this was the reason CM Punk hates John Cena although this was over a decade ago and as nowadays AEW rumbling CM Punk is now John Cena at that time.
He continued and said that damn he disagreed on everything they did but HHH was in full support of the storyline. His exact statement is,
“I remember one time Hunter saying, ‘As different as they are, the reason he hates John so much is because he knows if he was in that same spot, he would act the same way.’ This is over a decade ago, and to hear the rumblings of AEW saying he’s acting the way John Cena did back then is just like, I mean, damn near everything I disagreed with Hunter on, he was right. He just knows, man.”
