John Cena claims LA Knight’s astronomical rise reminds him of his rise to the top in WWE

Over the last 20 years, John Cena has cemented his legacy as one of the greatest WWE superstars of all time. It wouldn’t be amiss to say that Cena is the literal embodiment of the term “star power.” Any programming featuring The Cenation Leader attracts colossal ratings and fanfare. That said, recently, Cena claimed that he finds LA Knight and his ascension to the top quite similar.

Speaking on the latest edition of The Bump via Wrestling Inc., Cena discussed his unlikely association with Knight. Talking about the Megastar, Cena said, “It felt great, only because it reminds me of when I started to gain a little bit of notoriety and relevance in WWE, LA Knight and my story runs a little bit parallel. He kind of just refused to give up.” The 46-year-old further praised Knight for winning over the WWE fans and not losing his momentum despite the lack of consistent push initially.

The Cenation Leader and Megastar found themselves in an unlikely partnership last week on SmackDown. Knight and Cena are slated to face Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa in a tag team action at WWE Fastlane. Next week also marks the return of Roman Reigns on the blue brand. Hence, it will be intriguing to see how the Knight-Cena feud with The Bloodline will move forward with the arrival of The Tribal Chief.
