John Cena returned to SmackDown after a long time and received a warm welcome from the WWE Universe. However, Jimmy Uso cut short this meet-and-greet. Both superstars were in a heated exchange of words in the opening segment of SmackDown. The Cenation Leader wasn’t reluctant to destroy the 38-year-old with his words.
Jimmy Uso called John Cena corrupt and even compared him to the Tribal Chief. Replying to that, Cena tore him apart with his words and took a brutal shot at him. He said, “I have been wanting to say this to you for three years because I have only been thinking of one thing. The wrong Uso quit.”
It was indeed a mouth-shutting reply to Jimy Uso as the 16-time World Champion referred to Jey Uso’s leaving WWE. The frustrated Jimmy Uso pretended to leave the ring and abruptly attempted to hit a superkick at John Cena. However, Jimmy was on top of Cena’s shoulder before he could even realize it. The Cenation Leader delivered his signature Attitude Adjustment to Uso to a thunderous reaction from the crowd.
Jimmy Uso and John Cena delivered an incredible opening segment to kick off SmackDown. Cena left Uso speechless as he mentioned the exit of his brother Jey from WWE. It will be interesting to see the upcoming angle between the two superstars. WWE also announced Cena as the host for Payback.
Jimmy Uso can be next in line to feud with John Cena
John Cena made his triumphant return on SmackDown. His two-month appearance for the blue brand began with Jimmy Uso interrupting him. After this week’s segment between Jimmy and Cena, fans have been speculating about the potential reason for this move by WWE.
Jimmy Uso will have to face Jey Uso at some point in WWE. Moreover, it is rumored to be WrestleMania next year. Therefore, to make him look like a worthy opponent for a potential marquee match, WWE needs to make him look important. By putting him against the biggest face of the company, John Cena, WWE can easily do that.
John Cena and Jimmy Uso will be involved in a program at Payback or Fastlane. Moreover, Jimmy will be looking for an opportunity to strike back after receiving an Attitude Adjustment from the former World Champion this week. It will be interesting if WWE books a feud between both superstars.
