This week’s Friday Night SmackDown had a great progression to the storyline between The Bloodline and John Cena. AJ Styles was to help the Cenation Leader tackle Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa. However, The Bloodline members had other plans as they took out Styles in a vicious attack backstage.

John Cena kicked off SmackDown, discussing his frustrations with facing The Bloodline. He went on to say that he has found a phenomenal partner to deal with The Bloodline problem. Following the segment, AJ Styles accepted John Cena’s proposal, and the two issued a challenge to the heel faction for a tag team match.

Although Jimmy and Solo showed up, they walked away without answering. Later, WWE Official Adam Pearce drafted a contract for the proposed tag team match. The Cenation Leader signed the contract for one of the main events for Fastlane and waited for the OC leader to show up. However, AJ Styles did not show up for the contract signing.

It was shown that Styles was brutally attacked by Jimmy Uso backstage, who threw the Georgia Pitbull over a table surrounded by equipment boxes. Solo Sikoa looked down on the Phenomenal One from a 15-foot-high platform and delivered a splash, crushing him. WWE on FOX took to X to post the video of the vicious attack. Watch the video below.

After the attack, AJ Styles was stretchered into an ambulance, leaving a solitary John Cena watching. Cena’s attempt to retaliate against Jimmy and Solo Uso backfired, and The Bloodline stood victorious over him, signaling triumph as SmackDown closed.

Sean Ross Sapp went on to say that Knight’s removal was not a Vince McMahon decision. Unfortunately, the 40-year-old tested positive for COVID-19 and left the building right before SmackDown kicked off. It will be interesting to see how things shape up in the coming weeks.
