After a two-month hiatus, Roman Reigns finally returned to SmackDown this week. However, he decided not to wait until the end as The Tribal Chief interrupted John Cena, who got the proceedings underway on the Season Premiere of SmackDown. Though Reigns and The Bloodline were under the impression that the 16-time World Champion wanted to have a crack at Reigns’ title, that was not to be.

John Cena insisted on having not earned the right to challenge Roman for that Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. However, the Cenation Leader brought out LA Knight, as the latter did walk the talk. Yet again, that music hit, and the crowd went bonkers. At first, Reigns appeared to be wondering whom he had just run into. It was a huge test for Knight, as he arguably had the biggest confrontation of his WWE career.

And guess what? LA Knight did not disappoint. Affirming that he’s been the fastest-rising SmackDown star in history, The Megastar never lost his touch. Just when the fans and Cena were enjoying this dream faceoff, Jimmy Uso sneaked in and decked Knight from behind. Understanding the gravity of the situation, Paul Heyman persuaded Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa not to get physical, and they retrieved.

However, Knight yelled at Sikoa to have a match tonight, which later became official. Before that, Roman Reigns and company had a busy night. They even came face-to-face with Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso. What remained the highlight was the face-off between The Tribal Chief and The American Night.

It was a cold confrontation between two rivals who locked horns at this year’s WrestleMania. The segment gave many goosebumps and it might be a tease of what to expect in the future. Reigns has asked both Jimmy and Solo to take care of the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions.

Roman Reigns made a huge statement to close the show

Things went down quick in the main event on this week’s edition of SmackDown. The Head of the Table picked Solo Sikoa to put LA Knight in his place. However, The Defiant One had other plans as he pinned The Enforcer after a little assistance from John Cena, who took out Jimmy Uso.

With that victory, LA Knight has joined Cody Rhodes on the list of WWE Superstars to have pinned Solo Sikoa on the main roster. However, the celebrations were cut short when Roman Reigns crashed into Knight’s abdomen from behind. That spear reminded everyone about who still runs the place.

The show ended with Reigns standing over Knight with his title held high. From the looks of it, it’s all leading to a singles match for the Undisputed Title between Reigns and Knight at Crown Jewel next month. Hands down, it would be LA Knight’s biggest WWE match to date if it happened.
