John Cena is set to star with retired football player, Rob Gronkowski in an upcoming Super Bowl commercial. For a second year in a row, the former tight end will collaborate with FanDuel. He will reprise his role in the iconic Kick of Destiny ad, which focuses on Gronkowski’s journey.
According to PWInsider, the WWE legend will be joining the star-studded roster in 2024. Along with Cena, actor Carl Weather will play the role of ‘coach’, helping the four-time Super Bowl Champion fulfill his destiny. Moreover, FanDuel customers have received the opportunity to bet on whether Gronkowski misses or makes his kick.
This won’t mark the first time the ‘Gronk’ will join forces with the WWE world. Previously, he hosted WrestleMania 36 at the Performance Center, where he notably became a 24/7 Champion. Rob has mentioned his passion for the wrestling business on multiple occasions as well. There will be intrigue as to how the football legend and John Cena interact in the upcoming Super Bowl campaign.
The Cenation Leader last competed inside the squared circle at Crown Jewel. He suffered a humiliating loss at the hands of Solo Sikoa before seemingly teasing his retirement. However, the sixteen-time World Champion sent a message on a recent episode of SmackDown, claiming he was eagerly waiting for another run in the company.
LA Knight recalls his experience working with John Cena
During his two-month WWE run in 2023, John Cena made it his mission to elevate LA Knight to the main event scene. The Franchise Player teamed with The Megastar at Fastlane and proceeded to introduce him as a viable threat to Roman Reigns’ reign. Recently, Knight detailed how it was working with the legend.
In an interview with Chris Van Vliet, he recalled how John showed his willingness to meet his girlfriend. Moreover, the 41-year-old revealed that the sixteen-time World Champion is one of the easiest superstars to work with. Knight remembered how Cena made the thought process simple prior to competing in the ring.
That is one of the easiest guys to work with. Everything is simple. Everything is, there’s not any over complicated thought process. It’s just kinda like, ‘Hey, look, when we go out there we’re gonna do our thing. It’s gonna be this this this.’ ‘Cool. Yeah. Great. Wonderful.”LA Knight on working with John Cena
Needless to say, his short stint worked wonders, as he would go on to receive a World Title shot at Crown Jewel. Even at this time, Knight has managed to keep himself in the championship picture on SmackDown. The Megastar is scheduled to take part in the fatal 4-way match at the Royal Rumble.
