Dreams do come true. And when it does, it makes the dreamer’s day beautiful and worth living. This past weekend, John Cena met Misha Rohozhyn, a 19-year-old Ukrainian refugee suffering from Down syndrome.

Misha, who is mute, was consoled by his mother, who vowed that as soon they were free of the Russian bombardment, they would find her son’s hero, Cena.

Misha stayed in his room after landing in the Netherlands last month, puzzled by his new surroundings and upset with his mother because they hadn’t located Mr. Cena.

Cena read the Wall Street Journal piece and planned a trip to Huizen, the Dutch town where the Rohozhyn family had taken asylum. The 45-year-old icon was moved by the Rohozhyn family’s courage as they escaped the besieged city of Mariupol in Ukraine as a result of the Russian invasion.

Ms. Rohozhyna began to cry as Mr. Cena stepped out of a car on Saturday, dressed in his World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. uniform. You can see the video here.

Cena sat with Misha and his family, eating a typical Ukrainian honey cake, as a gaggle of envious children stared from the window. Cena also brought Misha a WWE Championship belt, as well as other memorabilia.

The WWE superstar said, “I didn’t want a son to think of his mom in a different light just because she did whatever she had to do to get him to safety. I wanted to tell him today personally that his story really touched me.

Cena returned to London, where he’s presently filming a movie, after getting a tour of Misha’s room and comparing biceps.

Misha had not smiled since the battle began on February 24th, until Cena arrived. While war is a horrible experience for everyone, those with sensory impairments, especially Down syndrome, generally find the bombardment, noises, and disturbances of conflict extremely difficult.
