John Cena has made the transition from the wrestling industry to Hollywood successfully. Since becoming a full-time actor, he has gained more mainstream prominence. Recently, the WWE legend made his debut for the Savannah Bananas and almost ended up attacking the pitcher.
First, John Cena walked out to his theme music at George Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, Florida. Interestingly, The Franchise Player recreated his WrestleMania 25 entrance. He made a thrilling entrance while the Savannah players in the dugout performed the “You Can’t See Me” taunt. Moreover, Cena entered while dawning the yellow kit, raising a championship belt and three fingers.
The Cenation Leader, who was supposedly playing baseball for the first time since he was 15, held the bat in an unorthodox position. As a result, he struck out while looking on. After three strikes, John argued with the umpire, who hilariously channeled his inner Ric Flair and performed an elbow drop. Furthermore, Cena copied Hulk Hogan‘s finger point at the pitcher and ran after him.
However, instead of attacking him, the sixteen-time World Champion endorsed the pitcher by raising his hand and congratulating him. All in all, it was an entertaining watch for baseball and wrestling fans. John Cena last competed in WWE at Crown Jewel 2023, losing against Solo Sikoa. Despite teasing his retirement, the 45-year-old later revealed he would compete once again inside the squared circle.
John Cena recalls his TLC match with Edge, believes finish was unnecessary
Without a doubt, one of John Cena’s greatest rivals in his career was the Rated-R Superstar, Edge. In fact, some have pointed out how the 2006 feud may have been the most important of both men’s careers. The Franchise Player spoke in detail about his TLC match with Edge at the Unforgiven pay-per-view that year.
During an episode of WWE Untold, John Cena claimed that an important part of ring philosophy revolves around not doing anything he’s uncomfortable with. As a result, his fear of heights made him skeptical of performing the infamous move on Edge. However, the Hall of Famer convinced The Cenation Leader to go through with the spot.
My philosophy on the contact nature of sports entertainment is that we’re in control. If you feel you can’t do something, you shouldn’t do it. I have a fear of heights. Once again, I only did what I knew I could do.

Despite having reservations regarding the spot, it turned out to be one of the most iconic moments of the legends’ careers. Cena would go on to have a year-long reign with the WWE Championship while Edge established himself as a top superstar.
