John Cena is one of the famous if not the most famous WWE Superstars of all time. The record equalling 16-time WWE Champion started his career in pro wrestling in the year 2000 in a wrestling company named Ultimate Pro Wrestling. After a short stint with UPW John Cena signed a WWE contract and was shifted to Ohio Valley Wrestling as he had a developmental contract with the company. During his time in OVW Cena won the OVW heavyweight Championship for 90 days and had four tryouts for the main roster.
In 2002 Cena debuted on the main roster in a match against The Olympic medallist Kurt Angle, although he lost the bout, he was praised by everyone backstage for his impressive match against a veteran. John Cena later adopted the Doctor of Thuganomics character which instantly became fan favourite and resulted in a huge popularity rise of Cena. An epic feud with the Undertaker gave John Cena a much-deserved push in his career. After a feud with Big Show over the United States Championship, Cena found himself in the WWE title picture against JBL.
John Cena completed 20 years with WWE
Cena finally realised his dream when he defeated JBL to win his first WWE Championship of his career. Since his first WWE Championship Cena hasn’t looked back and has went to be the face of the company for almost 20 years. A career spanning for 20 years saw John Cena become the epitome of wrestling and was one of the biggest draws in the history of the company.
John Cena recently completed his 20 years with the WWE and was showered with love by the WWE Universe and the WWE superstars during his appearance on Raw. The whole show was dedicated to John Cena as the Leader of Cenation met with the back staff, fellow wrestlers and the adoring fans during the show. A special tribute video was also played to congratulate Cena for what could be said an exceptional accomplishment in her storied career.
Former WWE Superstars and millions of fans all around the globe were full of praise and congratulatory messages through various social media platforms. John Cena took to twitter and thanked everyone for the love and support hey had given him in an emotional tweet.
Cena is an inspiration and role model for many around the world, we would have to wait and see when the Champ returns to in ring action.
