John Cena to star in a TITULAR role alongside Baywatch fame Zac Efron in a Rated-R Comedy
John Cena is one of the biggest WWE stars of all time. He was the face of the company in the PG Era before he decided to switch gears and make a way for himself in the showbiz industry. Though Cena had worked in films during his career as well, where most of the movies were produced by WWE Studios.
While this gave Cena enough exposure, he then set out on his own journey making it a full-time career following the footsteps of his fellow star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Cena has been a part of chartbusters like The Marine, F9, Bumblebee, The Suicide Squad and his latest hit venture with HBO- The Peacemaker.

John Cena in talks with Peter Farrelly for his next project called “Ricky Stanicky ‘
Cena who is currently busy shooting for The Peacemaker Season 2, is reportedly being roped in for another big project. Renowned Director and Writer Peter Farrelly is looking to cast Cena and Baywatch fame Zac Efron in a Rated-R comedy venture. The film which is titled ” Ricky Stanicky” will Farrelly’s first R-Rated comedy film after a long time.
The director while talking to The Deadline revealed that he is indeed in talks with John Cena and Zac Efron but nothing has been finalized as of now. He also revealed that the shooting of the film will start in January.
Farrelly would then go on to praise Cena for his impeccable comic timing and was impressed that a guy of Cena’s size could pull off comedy so easily. He also accepted that he never knew Cena until he saw him pulling comedic segments flawlessly in The Peacemaker.
He said that John Cena perfectly resonates with the character of Ricky Stanicky and that’s why he wants to cast him. “Cena is Ricky Stanicky, and if you’ve seen him in Peacemaker, you see what he can do in a comedy. He’s hysterical in a show that really pushes it.” explained Farrelly.
He then further praised Cena by saying- “I never knew much about John Cena until I saw that, and I was like, ‘There’s Stanicky right there.’ That guy, I love him.”
Cena is designated to play the titular role as per the director, however it still needs to be seen if he agrees to the project. Cena was last seen in WWE when he made a brief return where he was scheduled to fight Austin Theory at Summerslam but due to Cena’s busy Hollywood schedule the plans were scraped off.
