WWE made a shocking announcement this week that John Cena would be appearing on next week’s episode of NXT. Not only will he make his appearance, but he will also be in the corner of former NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes in his match. Hayes will lock horns with Bron Breakker next week as he reignites his rivalry in one-on-one action.

Ilja Dragunov and Trick Williams had a segment this week on NXT and Carmelo Hayes joined them, followed by Dominik Mysterio. Melo wanted to be in Trick’s corner during his title defense against Dirty Dom. However, Dominik took shots at the 29-year-old for still being under Melo’s shadow. Thus, Williams rejected the offer as he wanted to prove himself to the WWE Universe.

A few moments later, Carmelo Hayes encountered Bron Breakker in the backstage area. The latter encouraged Hayes to harness his rage and frustration to beat up everyone on his way, including his best friend Trick Williams. Replying to that, the former NXT Champion warned the 25-year-old to keep Williams out of this. However, Bron reminded Melo that Trick Williams wasn’t there by his corner when he lost the NXT Championship.

Afterward, Carmelo Hayes was found in the parking lot. To everyone’s surprise, the former champion said that he requested a match against Breakker next week. Furthermore, he revealed that the 16-time world champion, John Cena, will be in his corner during his match. This will mark the Cenation Leader’s first NXT appearance in ten years.

Paul Heyman retaliates John Cena, makes huge announcement on NXT tonight

A shockingly major announcement was made this week on NXT. Multi-time World Champion John Cena will appear on next week’s edition of NXT. He will be there to support Carmelo Hayes in his match against Bron Breakker. On the other hand, Paul Heyman appeared backstage to announce he will also be present on NXT next week to be in Breakker’s corner.

The Wise Man appeared outside in the closing moments of NXT. Heyman believed that it is highly unfair for John Cena to show up next week to support Melo, while Breakker would be left alone. Hence, the 58-year-old revealed that he will be having Bron’s back when he shows up to NXT next week. Heyman said that Roman Reigns suggested he take that decision.

Nonetheless, next week’s NXT episode seems like a stacked show. The show will feature guest appearances from several main roster stars. Cody Rhodes and Asuka will also appear on the show. It appears NXT is gearing up to deliver a pretty solid episode, as they go head-to-head with AEW Dynamite, which marks the debut match of Adam ‘Edge’ Copeland.
