John Cena was announced to compete for the first time in India at Superstar Spectacle. However, his opponent had been under the cover, until today. That said, WWE has announced that John Cena will team up with Seth Rollins to battle Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci. It would mark Cena’s debut match on the Indian soil.

Since the official announcement, there has been a wave of disappointment among fans. It argues with the fact how could WWE snub them by not having John Cena in a singles match against Gunther. The Ring General will seemingly be traveling to India as well. So, the promotion had the opportunity to deliver the dream match. However, their trepidation for holding off the bout could be justified.

For John Cena’s high-caliber showdown against Gunther, the creative would’ve surely forced Cena into the jaws of defeat. And, upon such a monumental occasion, the Franchise Player couldn’t afford to bite the dust. Who knows if the said match might be in works for somewhere down the road? Nonetheless, Cena and Rollins would need to tackle the brilliance of Vinci and Kaiser.

The Europeans have proved themselves as an effective duo on the main-roster. For sure, they won’t leave the babyfaces without a viable effort. Apart from this epic tag match, another match was announced a few days ago. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will defend the Tag Team titles against Veer and Sanga at the GMC Balayogi Indoor stadium in Hyderabad.

There might be a bunch of fans who believe that John Cena’s Superstar Spectacle visit is his first trip to India. However, that’s not true. Even though he’s wrestling for the first time in the country next week, the Peacemaker star has been to the largest democracy before. Back in February 2006, John Cena toured Mumbai (then Bombay) in conjunction with Ten Sports.

He even did an event in the city where thousands of locals gathered just to get a glimpse of the Cenation Leader. During the show, the wrestler-turned-actor admitted that he hasn’t seen such energy ever before in his career. He felt absolutely jubilant about his successful visit to a country with one of the largest fanbases of WWE around the globe. In 2023, it’s likely to get even crazier.
