Mercedes Mone, aka Sasha Banks, is currently the hottest free agent in professional wrestling. Over the past few weeks, she has hinted at her next possible destination, including WWE and AEW. Moreover, Bayley, her former tag partner and real-life friend, has joined in on the fun teases before. Now, Damage CTRL member, Kairi Sane, has posted a tease as well.

On her official Instagram account, the 35-year-old shared a picture of herself with Bayley and Sasha Banks during their time in NXT. The trio is holding the Women’s Championship of the Gold brand in the photo. Interestingly, The Boss’ first match after leaving WWE was against the Pirate Princess in NJWP. Banks emerged victorious at Battle in the Valley, capturing the IWGP Women’s Championship.

Kairi Sane would later end up leaving STARDOM and joining the Stamford-based promotion at Crown Jewel 2023. The former Tag Team Champion’s return kick started an intriguing storyline on SmackDown involving Damage CTRL and Bayley. Meanwhile, Sasha Banks has been out of action for eight months and will most likely return to the ring soon.

Despite the online hints and teases, the 31-year-old star is reportedly headed to AEW. According to sources, talks between Banks and WWE officials fell apart due to a difference in salary. Furthermore, rumors suggested that she requested to be the highest-paid woman on the roster. It will be interesting to see whether the Stamford-based promotion makes a last-minute call and brings back The Boss to WWE.

Will Sasha Banks return to help Bayley at Royal Rumble?

The ongoing Damage CTRL storyline on SmackDown has certainly made Bayley a favorite to win the Royal Rumble match. However, speculations regarding Sasha Banks’ possible return have fans believing that the former Tag Champs might reunite at the PLE. With The Role Model’s departure from the faction looking more inevitable as each week passes by, she could use help in the form of The Boss.

In addition to that, Naomi can add more to the saga with her return to the WWE being considered a done deal. This year’s Royal Rumble matches have had the best buildup that they have had in more than a decade. A lot of top stars are gunning to “finish” their own respective stories at WrestleMania.

On the women’s side of the equation, Bayley, along with Becky Lynch and Nia Jax, are posing as viable contenders. Moreover, the likes of Liv Morgan, Jade Cargill, and Naomi might show up in the bout and stake their claim. It will be interesting to see how the women’s division’s storylines shape up during the Road to WrestleMania.
