A top superstar from Friday Night SmackDown has recently teased a potential feud with the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns. The star in question is none other than former NXT Champion, Karrion Kross. The 38-year-old hasn’t had a television appearance since the August 11 edition of SmackDown.
After the latest episode of the blue brand, Kross posted cryptic backstage footage on his Instagram. In the video, he intensely watched Roman Reigns as the champion made his entrance down the ramp. This left many fans wondering if it hinted at a potential feud between Kross and Reigns.
This week marked the return of Roman Reigns after a two-month absence from the blue brand. The champion is in a feud against the rising superstar of SmackDown, LA Knight. However, it’s safe to assume that a potential rivalry between the Tribal Chief and The Herald of Doomsday will likely happen shortly.

Moreover, after seeing Kross’ enigmatic Instagram post, his fans are patiently waiting for the superstar’s potential to be harnessed to its fullest.

Karrion Kross makes a baffling comparison between Roman Reigns and Bruno Sammartino
After his initial release from WWE, former NXT champion Karrion Kross was brought back to WWE last year. His very first feud after his comeback was against the Scottish Warrior, Drew McIntyre. In an interview during that time frame, Kross expressed his desire to face Roman Reigns and compared the latter to Bruno Sammartino.
Speaking on The Ringer Wrestling Show via Fightful, Kross said, “I feel like everyone should want to be in the ring with Roman Reigns. I hope nobody minds that I’m comparing him but to me, he’s our modern-day Bruno. What he’s doing right now, in my opinion, is historic for our company’s history…That is the guy that I’d want to be in the ring with.”
The 38-year-old had high praise for Roman Reigns. He spoke very highly of the character work and storytelling Roman has been pulling off with The Bloodline. Furthermore, he went as far as labeling Reigns as the modern-day Bruno Sammartino. The Doom Walker concluded by stating that Roman is the guy he wants to be in the ring with.
