WWE recently released several superstars from the company following the billion-dollar merger under Endeavor. One of the big names on the list of released superstars was Elias. After his release, WWE backstage interviewer Kayla Braxton expressed her thoughts and shared a heartfelt message on X.
The 32-year-old posted a picture of herself with Elias on X. She interviewed him whilst he interacted with the WWE Universe. Braxton posted an interesting caption saying, “@IAmEliasWWE, it was a pleasure getting to walk with you“. ‘Walk With Elias’ is the same catchphrase the released superstar made famous during his time in WWE.
Elias was famous for his interesting promos at the peak of his career in 2018–19. The superstar suffered an injury later on, which forced him to be out of WWE programming for a while. However, he later returned with a new gimmick, Ezekiel, which garnered adoration from the fans. Elias later abruptly disappeared from television, which seemingly made it easier for WWE to release him.
Kayla Braxton appears to be one of those individuals disheartened by Elias’ release. Braxton referred to as Paul Heyman’s alleged girlfriend, often chased Heyman for backstage interviews.
WWE veterans and superstars have appreciated Elias for his work in WWE. His in-ring skills were great, which led to some of the epic moments of his career. The WWE Universe enjoyed his interactions with superstars like John Cena, The Undertaker, and Trish Stratus, who interrupted him during his performances.
Elias reacted for the first time after release
Elias was released this week by WWE, along with many other superstars. Finally, he broke his silence and appreciated the love and support the WWE Universe has shown him. The 35-year-old recalled all the amazing moments he had as part of the Stamford-based promotion. Moreover, he talked about sharing the ring with The Undertaker and John Cena and expressed his immense gratitude.
The 35-year-old posted an appreciation post on X after his release. He wrote, “From Drifting onto the Scene..To WrestleMania with John Cena & The Undertaker..To Millions Around the World for Years Walking With Elias..A #1 iTunes Album.” Elias seemed quite obliged for his time in the promotion and thanked WWE for allowing him to perform in the ring.
Moreover, Elias also humorously revealed that he was Ezekiel all along, as he wrote, “To be my own younger brother (ZEKE) while traveling the world, it’s been a blast. God is good!”. He ended his message on a good note as he showed off his love and optimistic approach towards life and faith in God.
