“Why didn’t you tell us?” When Kelly Kelly revealed shocking reaction of her family to her STRIPPING segment on live television

Kelly Kelly was one of the most gorgeous and hottest divas during her time in WWE. She debuted on ECW as the part of a faction called Extreme Expose with Layla and Brooke Adams, where she would host a stripping segment every night. Kelly was only 19 years old when she made her debut making her the youngest diva at that time. Being the youngest one in the locker room at that time it is obvious that it wouldn’t have been easy for the former Divas Champion to strip down in front of a live audience.
Though she would soon transition into a full time wrestler and would even win the WWE Divas Championship in 2011 before leaving the company in 2012. But, Kelly Kelly had once revealed how the stripping segment became a trouble for her. Kelly while speaking on Lilian Garcia’s podcast revealed that her family was furious when they saw Kelly stripping on live television.

Kelly said about the segment- “I’m 19, I have no rhythm number one, I can’t dance, I’m trying to get naked in front of millions of people, this is insane.” She would then continue to tell that her father was a huge fan of pro-wrestling and always wanted Kelly to make a way for herself into the business, and when Kelly finally made the cut he was elated.
But he didn’t know that his excitement would soon turn into a shock as her daughter on her debut would have to strip in front of a live audience. She then told Garcia that she hadn’t told anyone about the segment because of the obvious reaction.
Kelly revealed the initial reaction of her family to the segment- “They were like ‘Why didn’t you tell us you were doing that?’ And I was like, ‘Well because you were gonna watch.” Kelly then said she pursuaded her parents as she convinced that soon her gimmick will be changed.
She said that she believed in the company and it wasn’t going to be the same every time and if it goes on her family will eventually make her leave the company. She said that she knew how wrestling business worked and one was not supposed to be a part of a storyline for all of their career.
A similar thing happened with Kelly Kelly as well as she started fighting more wrestling matches as she won the Divas Championship in 2011. She returned to Monday Night Raw in 2019, where she also became the first woman to win the 24/7 championship.
