Matt Riddle is one of the toughest WWE Superstars in the current roster and the Former UFC fighter has been having a successful WWE career. He has managed to establish himself as one of the prominent wrestlers in the roster and is said to be a future WWE Champion. The Former US Champion is currently involved in a feud with Seth Rollins and he has been in his most aggressive form of all time. The feud began after the MITB Live event and both were supposed to face each other at SummerSlam but Matt Riddle was injured by Seth on an edition of RAW before the live event, which cancelled their match as Riddle being unfit.
Even after being injured, Matt Riddle appeared at the SummerSlam where he brawled with Seth Rollins but Rollins managed to overpower him and stomped him in the middle of the ring. The Former WWE Champion and Matt faced each other at the Clash at the Castle live event, where Seth Rollins stomped Matt from the middle rope to win the match. On the 12th September edition of RAW, Rollins had interfered in a match involving Matt vs Finn Balor, which cost Matt Riddle to lose the match.
Matt Riddle would then cost Seth the US title after he interfered and distracted Rollins during his match against US Champion Bobby Lashley. The two wrestlers also brawled at backstage and are now set to face each other at the Extreme Rules in a Fight Pit match. The Fight Pit is a sort of a steel cage but has no escape and the wrestler can only win via pinfall or submission.
The rivalry between the two has been an intense affair as both of them dragged each other’s personal lives in the matter during a virtual meet before Clash at the Castle. One User on twitter posted a picture of Ken Shamrock dressed as a referee during his time in WWE and said that Shamrock should be a special guest referee in the match, to which shamrock wrote “Couldn’t agree more!”. Shamrock left the company in 1999 and hasn’t returned since, with fans like these wanting to see the Retired UFC fighter in the company again.
Seth Rollins slams Matt Riddle for his conduct
In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani of BT Sport, Seth Rollins spoke about his hatred for Matt Riddle. He said that he has never liked Matt Riddle’s attitude and never liked the way Matt goes into the business. When Matt Riddle was a rookie in the NXT, Rollins claimed that Riddle had disrespected several WWE veterans, including Booker T, Brock Lesnar, and The Goldberg. Riddle is a skilled performer in the ring, according to Rollins, but the problem is with his attitude and his behavior. Seth Rollins says he respects his desire to go to the top and advised Matt to work his way up.
