WWE merged with the UFC a couple of months ago. After the merger, the role of Vince McMahon in the company’s creative decisions has diminished. The Executive Chairman has no final say over WWE’s creative decisions, as Triple H is predominantly looking after the creative department in the company.
Recently, WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash highlighted a major difference between the creative regimes of Triple H and Vince McMahon. During his Kliq This podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer revealed that Hunter believes in giving opportunities to young talent to see if they are worthy of their spot in the company.
“For so long, people would sit around [in WWE] and wait for Vince to anoint them,” Nash said. “‘I’ll sit here, and sooner or later I’ll get the sword tapped on each side of my shoulder.’ No, man. The sword’s in the stone. You better be the one that can pick that motherf***er up through it,” said Kevin Nash.
For context, the former WWE superstar has referred to a metaphor for the legend of King Arthur and the sword known as Excalibur. The story revolves around the concept that only a worthy person can pull the sword out of the stone. Kevin Nash stated that The Game’s booking also revolves around a similar concept of giving opportunities to deserving talent.
Moreover, the former NWO member believes that it is a great decision by WWE to appoint Triple H as the head of the creative. Nash has great confidence in the creative direction of WWE going forward. Needless to say, the WWE Universe has been highly enjoying and appreciating the product under Triple H’s creative regime.
Rey Mysterio expressed his views on Triple H as head of creative department
Rey Mysterio is a veteran in the WWE. He has been working as a professional wrestler for a long time now. After his experience with Vince McMahon and currently with Triple H, Mysterio expressed his views over latter as the head of the creative department.
While speaking on MMA Hour, the legendary luchador stated that Triple H understands the roster as he has worked as a talent before. “He was part of the roster, so he understands what we do and go through. I don’t think they could have picked a better person to take that role. He’s been doing incredible. From the whole writing team, and him, and whoever is the final person that gives the authorization to say, ‘That’s a go,’ it’s been doing really well,” said Rey Mysterio while praising Triple H.
The masked superstar heavily appreciated The Game. He claimed that Triple H was the right person to replace Vince McMahon. Moreover, the Master of 619 said that it’s wild for him to realize that the 78-year-old is not in control anymore. Furthermore, WWE has been going through major changes recently after the merger with the UFC under Endeavor.
