When Jey Uso came to Monday Night Raw a few weeks ago, Cody Rhodes announced that someone from Raw would also go to SmackDown in exchange for Jey. Therefore, for the past few weeks, fans have been speculating who that will be. On the latest episode of SmackDown, it turned out to be Kevin Owens.

However, he was not the only superstar from Raw to make an appearance on the show. Dominik Mysterio graced the season premiere of SmackDown with his presence, interrupting Triple H, Nick Aldis, and Adam Pearce. This is when Kevin Owens came down to the ring and hit Dom with a stunner.

In a backstage interview, Kevin Owens spoke with Cathy Kelley, Rhea Ripley’s ex-lover, noting her connection to The Eradicator. He humbly requested that Kelley urge Ripley to stop attacking him, as she had been doing.

He said, “You’re pretty close to Rhea, right?… Can you have a word with Rhea about constantly attacking me and stuffs… coz that’s just not cool, although look I’m on SmackDown now and hopefully she wont be around much.”

He mentioned that with his move to Friday nights, he may not have to encounter them anymore. Owens also noted his separation from tag partner Sami Zayn, who remains on Raw, officially ending their tag partnership. Both will likely pursue singles careers on their respective shows.

Kevin Owens’ surprising transfer shocked fans, who felt his feud with The Judgment Day had grown stale. Eager for a fresh direction for the former Universal Champion, fans see the move as a smart choice to reinvigorate Owens’ career as a singles competitor.

Kevin Owens gives a shout-out to Adam Cole on SmackDown

While talking to Cathy Kelley, Kevin Owens also mentioned his wishes to one of his friends. He said, “I have a friend named Adam who had a very serious surgery today; he’s at the hospital now recovering. I just want to say, Adam, we love you, we’re with you, and take care of yourself, buddy.” This was a direct reference to ROH tag team champion Adam Cole, who currently works at AEW.

Recently, Adam Cole underwent ankle surgery due to an injury, impacting his storyline with MJF and Roderick Strong. Fans appreciate the camaraderie between superstars from both companies amid the turbulent week they’ve had.

Adam Cole and Kevin Owens have known each other for a very long time. Their friendship goes back to the days of ROH and PWG when the two were not even signed to WWE. Following their successful careers in WWE, both superstars are at the top of their respective companies. Adam Cole was a part of the main event for the biggest show that AEW has ever done.
