WWE Hall of Famer recalls about the incident when he saved Sean Waltman’s LIFE

Sean Waltman was one of the popular figures of the attitude era due to his alliance with the D-Generation X. Sean Waltman worked as a jobber during the early years of his career and was shot to prominence when he beat Razor Ramon on an edition of RAW and was dubbed as the 123 Kid.
Sean Waltman was a part of the WWF from 1993 to 1996 and thereafter he joined the WCW, where he was a part of the nWo. Waltman re-joined the WWF in 1998 and remained there until 2002, during which time he became more popular as a member of DX and won the tag team championship with Kane, as well as becoming a two-time European Champion.
Sean Waltman was a decent in-ring worker, but his career was constantly marred by substance abuse problems, with Eric Bischoff saying that Waltman was lucky to even have a job. During a recent edition of Kliq This Podcast, Kevin Nash shared a story from the 90s when Sean Waltman had taken a couple of Somas and all of the guys feared that he would overdose.
Nash said that everybody was up all night and it took all of them to hold him in the ice-cold shower and make him walk up and down the hallway to ensure that he didn’t OD. By six in the morning, Sean had finally slept off, but Nash remained by Waltman’s side to check on his breathing. In accordance with Nash, Waltman thanked him for saving his life when he awoke at nine in the morning.
“We got the robe from the hotel that we put him in to walk him up and down the hallway. Finally, at 6 O’clock, he falls asleep. I just sit there, I wanna make sure he’s breathing. At 9 O’clock he woke up, and I’m just sitting there, looking at him. He looks at me and goes, ‘Love you man, just want to take this time to say, thank you for saving my life,”

Eric Bischoff said that Sean Waltman was critical to nWo’s success

Sean Waltman left WWE in 2002, and that year also saw the final appearance of nWo in the WWE as part of a storyline. During a recent interview, Eric Bischoff said that Sean Waltman was one of the important reasons why the nWo got over. Bischoff said that Waltman was critical to nWo’s success and was a vital part of the group as he kept the vibe going and added depth to what nWo represented. He also credited Konnan as an important member along with Waltman.
Waltman has now kicked his addiction and appears to be sober. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as a member of DX in 2019 and as a member of the nWo in 2021.
