“I haven’t won yet,” Kofi Kingston discards claims of himself being regarded as Mr. Royal Rumble
Kofi Kingston doesn't appreciates on being nicknamed as Mr. Royal Rumble, as he's yet to win it. However, he does have a chance at vindication in regards to last year's botch during the Rumble match.

Kofi Kingston has a special place in his heart for Royal Rumble matches. After all, he’s produced some of the greatest moments these highly enduring matches have to offer. Who could ever forget that incident back in 2013, where Kingston used JBL’s commentary chair to get back into the ring? Not only this, there have been plenty more to that.
Despite his inhumane acrobatics and next-level ingenuity, the former WWE Champion hasn’t been able to actually win a Royal Rumble match. He’d definitely like to change this as soon as possible. In just 4 days from now, he’ll have a chance at redemption from last year’s edition, where he botched his originally planned spot.
It was supposed to be another creative spearhead from the African wrestler, however, life doesn’t always work the way one wants. Nevertheless, this Saturday inside of The Alamodome, he can manufacture another memorable save, to live for ages to come. Speaking on Steve Fall’s Ten Count, Kofi Kingston discussed the moniker of Mr. Royal Rumble, which fans often associate to his name.
“No, because I haven’t won yet,” Kofi said. People say, ‘Well you have a good moment’, but to me the best moment would be to actually win or at least make the final four. So I hold myself to a really high standard. How can I claim to be Mr. Royal Rumble and I’ve never, you what I’m saying? I can’t embrace it. I know that I’ve had a lot of great moments and I’m appreciative of all of that, but the goal is ultimately to win.”

Kofi Kingston has some business to handle at WWE Vengeance Day too

As known, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods are the current NXT Tag-Team Champions. To what many terms as a refreshing move for The New Day members, they’re approaching a massive title defense. At NXT Vengeance Day on February 4, Kingston and Woods will defend the Tag-Team gold in a fatal-4-way match against Gallus, Pretty Deadly, and TBD.
This comes nearly a week after Royal Rumble. Also, since March of last year, The New Day has been operating without a third leg of the tripod. That being said, Big E hasn’t still been able to recover from his neck injury. It’s taking longer than expected, but that’s how it’s supposed to be. The Powerhouse of The New Day doesn’t want to rush over this.
He’s slated to undergo some scans in March this year, following which a concrete decision about Big E’s wrestling future can be made. Speaking of The New Day’s latest whereabouts, they’re presently in Australia. Most recently, the trio was spotted enjoying the Australian Open from the stands.
