Kurt Angle claims the 41-year-old star got fired because he “SUCKED” at wrestling, not due to their personal issues
Kurt Angle claims that Daniel Puder's attitude and average wrestling skills were the factors behind his short run in WWE.

Kurt Angle is considered one of the greatest in-ring athletes in WWE. His initial days in the company saw him struggle with his neck issues and get them operated on multiple times. But Angle was still passionate about the sport and kept on competing in various matches. In an interview, he recalled the time when he competed with Daniel Puder and stated that he sucked at wrestling, which got him fired from the company.
Kurt Angle recalled how his match with Daniel Puder of Tough Enough was supposed to end with a clean pinfall. But Kurt laid him down and went for a pinfall, but Puder countered it and turned that position into a Kimura Lock to make Angle submit. King Kurt then took advantage of this and took a roll-up pinfall victory with the supposed outcome. Considering his attitude, Kurt stated, “He just sucked as a wrestler!” having done such unprofessional things.
On the November 4, 2004, episode of SmackDown, Kurt challenged the Tough Enough finalists. He challenged two of them to a match and defeated Chris Nawrocki in less than a minute while making him tap out. But again, to find a better competitor, Angle challenged Puder, and the latter came out hoping for a classic match. The Wrestling Machine was warned by Vince McMahon not to pick Puder, but he did what he desired.
The American Hero stated that the aftermath of this event brought a certain hatred for Puder while he still had arrogance. Angle stated that WWE had to let him go because of his terrible performance, but when they asked him to join again, Daniel demanded more money. Thus, Kurt stated that he ended up being away from the company because of his attitude and basic wrestling skills and not because of Angle’s demand to get him out.
Daniel Puder was taught a lesson at Royal Rumble 2005
Kurt Angle stated that the attitude of Daniel Puder provoked other stars to shower their ire on him. One such incident happened at Royal Rumble in 2005, which was followed by Kurt’s match with him. Thus, to teach Puder a lesson, the initial superstars in the Royal Rumble match beat him seriously.
The idea for showering the beatings on Daniel started backstage when he was asked about his presence in the match. Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit were to start the match and decided that they would manhandle this Tough Enough Winner. And to their support also came Hardcore Holly, who joined their plan to beat him up.
Entering the match at number 3, Puder got multiple chops on his chest from many wrestlers for a while. The two-on-one attack of Daniel, led by Eddie and Chris, was liked by the crowd present there. With the entry of Holly at number 4, he dominated Daniel and eliminated him from the match.
