Kurt Angle recently made an appearance on RAW, when the show was in his hometown; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Kurt Angle met with Edge at the backstage and had recreated the iconic moment from 2002, where Edge had pulled a joke on him using a series of posters.
Kurt Angle and The Rated R Superstar had one of the most classic rivalries of all time, and their rivalry in 2002 culminated into one of the most popular matches in the WWE history, The Hair vs Hair Match. Kurt Angle lost the bout and since then hasn’t grown any hair again.
Kurt Angle also met with his former rival in the WWE, Rey Mysterio, who is his good friend in real life. Kurt Angle and Rey Mysterio too had a rivalry in 2002, which saw the two wrestlers compete at SummerSlam in that year, which also happened to be Rey’s Pay Per View debut. Angle won the match but the bout made Rey Mysterio a breakout star and the rest is history. Recently during the latest edition of The Kurt Angle show, Angle spoke about meeting his mates on the latest edition of RAW.
Kurt said that he was very happy reuniting with Edge and Rey Mysterio and those are people with whom he was in the company back in 2000 and 2005. Kurt Angle spoke about reenacting the poster scene with Edge and lot was a lot of fun. Kurt Angle stated that it was Edge’s idea and it was a great one.
“Seeing Edge and Rey, especially those two, I mean guys that I was in the company with back in 2000, 2005, it was a lot of fun to reminisce about the past and what we were doing that night. I did a really cool funny pre-tape with Edge and Rey Mysterio where Edge got me again with the poster boards on the back that said, ‘You still suck.’ It was a lot of fun. You know, we reenacted that from 2002, 20 years later. It was actually Edge’s idea and it was a great idea.”
Kurt Angle had revealed he got 14 stitches while fighting with Rey Mysterio
Just past week on an edition of The Kurt Angle Show, The Olympic Gold Medalist had revealed details about his match against Rey Mysterio at the 2002 SummerSlam Pay Per View. Kurt Angle said that Rey Mysterio wears knee braces, which are underneath his pants and when he performed the Hurricanrana off the top rope, the knee brace hit him on the top of his head, which got him about 14 stitches. Rey Mysterio wears the braces to protect him from any injury from the high-flying stunts he performs in the ring.
Edge and Rey Mysterio defeated the Judgement Day at Clash at the Castle Live Event, but the ending of the match was a big twist as Dominik Mysterio turned heel and attacked both Mysterio and Edge.
