During his career, the Olympic Gold Medalist has fought almost every big name in the company. One such top name was Kane, whom Angle has fought several times in his career. Today, Angle took time to reminisce about one of his encounters with the Big Red Monster.

“My match against the big red machine… Kane. This is the worst bump I ever took in my career. Referee Charles Robinson landed right on top of me. I thought I was going to crap myself. Lol. #itstrue #wwemoments”

The WWE Hall of Famer posted a clip of their match from RAW in 2001. He wrote about the chokeslam that he and referee Charles Robinson received simultaneously from Kane, calling it the worst bump he has ever received.

Chris Jericho and Kurt Angle have feuded with each other numerous times in their careers. The two mostly feuded for the Intercontinental Championship during the 2000s. The feud, which also included Chris Benoit, laid the groundwork for the three to face each other at WrestleMania 2000 in a two-fall Triple Threat match. Angle, who held both the European and Intercontinental titles at the time, was defeated at the event. Chris Jericho won the European Championship, whereas The Rabid Wolverine won the Intercontinental Championship.

During his time as the Undisputed Champion, Jericho also defended the championship against Angle and The Rock on the December 24th, 2001 edition of RAW. During a recent edition of the Kurt Angle Show, The WWE Hall of Famer praised the Lionheart. He said that he never thought that Jericho would ever leave WWE and sign with another company. The Olympic Gold Medalist went on to praise The Lionheart, saying that he is a huge star and should always be in the main event.

“I thought Chris Jericho was gonna be a WWE lifer, I never thought he’d ever leave….Regardless, Chris Jericho is a huge star, He should always be in the main event, and he should be winning a lot of matches. It’s not like he’s past his prime. He’s still going as well as he ever has, and as long as he’s doing that you need to continue to push him.”

Chris Jericho left WWE in 2018, with his last appearance being at the Greatest Royal Rumble. The Lionheart left WWE because he wasn’t seen as the top guy by Vince McMahon anymore, which prompted him to leave the company. He now enjoys his time at the AEW, where he became a one-time AEW Champion. Jericho also became a one-time ROH champion after the promotion was sold to AEW.
