D-Generation X reunited for the second time in 4 months this past Monday on Raw XXX. This time, though, they were joined by a fifth member to fill the role of Billy Gunn. The fans were delighted to see the WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle join DX for the first time. In the segment, Angle revealed his desire to join the group, which led to a series of amusing events. And now, the Olympian has reflected on his brief time with DX.
During a discussion in Raw Talk after the show, Kurt Angle dubbed this segment as one of his most memorable and coolest experiences ever. He said, “I had a lot of fun. Being able to hang out with DX, being an honorary member was the coolest thing in the world. My whole entire career, I’ve been kind of the nerd and the dork. To go out there with those guys was really cool. I had such a blast. Being able to ref the match, it was a lot of fun tonight. The Raw 30th [anniversary show], I’ll remember this forever.”
During the segment, DX was confronted by the Imperium, who called them “degenerates” and a mockery of their “sacred” sports. Gunther, the Intercontinental champion, then challenged DX to a fight. However, the legends amusingly copped out as being too old to do this. Eventually, Seth Rollins and Street Profits came out to go up against the Imperium. In a hilariously surreal series of events that followed, a six-man tag match was made official by Teddy Long with Kurt Angle as the special guest referee.

Following the DX reunion, Seth Rollins and The Street Profits went toe-to-toe against the Imperium in an impromptu match. Kurt Angle played a major role there with his custom referee outfit. Street Profits paid homage to the Olympic Gold Medalist with double ankle locks, which were followed by an angle slam from Seth Rollins. In the end, though, the Visionary delivered his own finisher, the curb stomp, as the American Hero counted the three.
Kurt Angle returned to WWE after 11 years in 2017. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame on his return the same year. In the following years, Angle would go on to have multiple matches in the company. The six-time WWE world champion put an end to his in-ring career in 2019, losing a match to Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 35. Since then, the 54-year-old legend has made occasional appearances in some comical segments on WWE TV.
