Kurt Angle has revealed an incident regarding Brock Lesnar that could've completely altered the state of professional.

One thing Brock Lesnar never did was wrestle for another promotion outside of WWE. While that sounds quite unrealistic now, it would’ve been a reality had TNA accepted his offer in 2007. The Beast Incarnate left WWE in 2004 to play for the Minnesota Kings in the NFL. The move was publicly acknowledged by WWE, who wished him luck for his then-upcoming venture. But he was cut from the team during its pre-season.
Three years later, in 2007, Brock Lesnar considered his wrestling return. However, it was not WWE that he called first. Instead, he called his former rival, Kurt Angle, to discuss some stuff. Lesnar shockingly asked the Hall of Famer whether the latter could land him a job in TNA. Brock inquired about Angle’s payday with present day Impact Wrestling and assured him he’d join the promotion if they matched Angle’s deal.
The revelations were recently made during The Kurt Angle Show podcast. The Olympic Gold medalist met with the TNA higher-ups to discuss Brock Lesnar’s situation. After Kurt explained what The Beast was seeking from them, the officials simply turned it down. They just weren’t ready to pay the exact sum, so they ceased the talks on the spot.
Following that, Lesnar took a different path and debuted in the UFC. After dominating in the field in Dana White-led promotion for nearly 4 years, the former Universal Champion returned to WWE in 2011. His first appearance since 2004 garnered one of the loudest crowd reactions in history.
That segment saw Brock Lesnar come out and simply attack John Cena without uttering a word. It’s beyond imagination what could’ve been the landscape of professional wrestling today if TNA had accepted Brock Lesnar’s request back then.
Is Brock Lesnar going to retire from WWE this year?

At SummerSlam, Brock Lesnar will fight Cody Rhodes in what is rumored to be their final chapter. Finally, after going on a hunting expedition against each other, these men will settle the score this Saturday. Despite ongoing rumors, their rubber match is likely to go down without any added stipulations. This might prove worth a downgrade for a few, as fans were hoping for something extra out of their feud’s potential culmination in Detroit.
The bout appears to be a traditional one-on-one match. Just like at Backlash, Brock Lesnar can bleed, or else he can take Cody Rhodes to Suplex City. Whatever the case might be, Lesnar isn’t expected to go over Rhodes. They’re currently sitting at 1-1 as the scoreline. Their upcoming showdown must elevate The American Nightmare. However, if WWE fails to do so, fans won’t wait to judge this storyline as completely worthless.
Moreover, the question is, how long until Brock Lesnar finally bows out? He’s had the career every aspiring wrestler dreams of. There’s absolutely nothing left for The Beast to accomplish in this business. He’s still going just to put over talents and fulfill his last commitments for WWE. Internally, the company hopes to have him around until WrestleMania 40. But there’s no concrete word on whether the Beast Incarnate will stick around till then.
