When he left Hagerstown after spending the first 20 years of his life and moved to Ohio, LA Knight dreamt big. However, the vicissitudes that he faced made him broke, even relegating him to the worst shelter one could even think of. And he wouldn’t have thought that one day, an incarnation of Shawn Ricker, the man they call LA Knight, would be conferred with The Key to the City.
Yesterday, the WWE Superstar was endowed with the esteemed honor. Even The Megastar found himself at a loss for words after witnessing half a thousand people gather for the occasion. Once he got on the microphone, LA Knight thanked everyone in attendance for showing up at 2 degrees. In a public address that came directly from his heart, the 41-year-old narrated his life story.

It took a long time for Knight to make a name for himself, and he said he would never forget what Maryland meant to him. Knight admittedly said that he does clear some time to meet his family in Hagerstown on days like Thanksgiving and Christmas. Moreover, The Defiant One advised everyone to never stop believing in themselves and even squashed his wedding rumors.
For once, he did call Hagerstown a small city with a blue-collar. Knight affirmed that even though not many people live in it, the place has big aspirations. He capped off his speech by asking everyone in the crowd, Who’s game it really is? And just so they knew, LA Knight’s name was chanted by the people at the top of their voices.
LA Knight has a big opportunity lined up on SmackDown
At the moment, LA Knight is one of the top dogs on SmackDown. He’s currently engrossed in a feud with Randy Orton and AJ Styles, where these men are hellbent on facing Roman Reigns.

The obstreperous arguments between Knight, Orton, and Styles made SmackDown GM Nick Aldis find a perfect solution to their glaring issue. As every one of them had a valid reason to ask for an opportunity to battle Roman Reigns, Aldis booked a No. 1 Contender Triple Threat match.
On January 5 at SmackDown: New Year’s Revolution, either The Viper, The Megastar The Phenomenal One will punch his ticket to the Royal Rumble and challenge The Tribal Chief for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Only LA Knight of the three has had the chance to get a one-on-one match with Reigns in his ongoing record-breakingย titleย reign.
