LA Knight is currently one of the most beloved superstars in WWE. The Megastar has been gaining massive pops all over the world, regardless of arena or place. The 40-year-old has reached this level after years of hard work in the pro wrestling industry. But this admiration has never been a constant for him.
LA Knight revealed that he once thought of quitting the company during the pandemic due to WWE’s longstanding pattern of picking the company’s next biggest superstars. While speaking on 70 Sports Media, Knight mentioned the time when the world suffered the wrath of the pandemic.
And that’s when he started thinking, “Alright, it’s over. Now I gotta figure out what’s the next step?” He revealed that during that time, he felt like the world was falling apart. Knight stated that he was worried that WWE might not consider pushing him because he was 38 years old. However, this mindset helped him give it a last try and overture with what was provided to him.
Ther WWE mostly focuses on youngsters and pushes those who can carry the company forward. Under the McMahon era, this has been a conventional pattern for determining the next big superstars for the company.
However, the Megastar stated that he barely had any major injury history or surgery. According to him, although he is 40, his body is operating like a 30-year-old. And that’s what makes him feel glad that he considered the little window of opportunity and made it happen. Knight has built most of his career while working at Impact and saw himself in a quite better place there.
What’s next for LA Knight after Payback 2023?
The Megastar is currently the most loved star on SmackDown, receiving thunderous reactions. He will battle against The Miz at Payback 2023. The WWE Universe has been wondering what he could do once he ends his rivalry with The A-Lister.
The return of John Cena on SmackDown has planned his availability for the coming two months. There have been rumors that WWE could involve LA Knight and John Cena in a program. Not only the match, but the segments leading up to their match will be highly entertaining if two of the best mic workers clash.
The possibilities of this happening are quite feasible, as The Cenation Leader has been putting over his opponent lately. They could be in a feud, culminating at Fastlane. The WWE Universe will love to see both superstars tear each other apart in the ring.
