There are several former WWE Superstars who left the company and went on completely different career paths. Lacey Evans is one such name. The former WWE superstar-turned-adult model recently remarked that she had no passion for working for WWE. It seems that her comments led to some backlash online. As a result, the 33-year-old has decided to clarify her stance and address the fans.
In her recent post on ‘X’, she stated how she is grateful to the Stamford-based company, its talent, and the opportunity it provided. While her response comes attached to an explanatory tweet by another account, she claims to be unscathed by the incident. In fact, Evans looks focused on helping more people through her cafe.
Very grateful. For @wwe. For the talent. The opportunity. The fans.....all of it. The world will read, say & assume what they want. All I know is that tomorrow at 5 am I open doors & start coffee at a cafe that has already helped hundreds & has more free help in the pipeline.Macey Estrella (fka Lacey Evans) via ‘X’
She intended to highlight how her words are being misinterpreted in their essence. In any case, she did leave a sour taste in the mouths of some fans. Evans also had a bittersweet relationship with her co-workers back in WWE.
Evans was reportedly in a real-life quarrel with The Man Becky Lynch and even had some tumultuous times with Charlotte Flair. Nevertheless, the former WWE wrestler looks content with her new ventures.
Update on Lacey Evans’ possible return to the squared circle
Lacey Evans stayed with the Stamford-based company for around 8 years. It was after asking for her exit that she received her permission to depart from WWE in August 2023. Since then, she has dabbled into various activities, making wrestling fans doubt about her willingness to return to the squared circle.
In her recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, she explained why fans will have to wait longer to see her wrestle once again. Evans explained how working with WWE was quite tiresome, which always made her look forward to returning to her home.
When I got signed with WWE, I was a mom and I was a wife. I’ve been with my husband since I was 15. It was an incredible opportunity. But it was a lot for whenever you compare what your passion is, and you’re wise and WWE is very, very difficult. If you’re on the road well over 300 days a year, they want a lot from you.Lacey Evans on the Insight podcast
It seems that life on the road took its toll on the Sassy Southern Belle. She was last seen on the Blue brand, where she showcased her prowess in finding her place in the women’s Money in the Bank match. Despite her valiant efforts, she lost to Zelina Vega. She was briefly involved in a heel phase with Aliyah and other rising superstars before departing the company.
