Laila Ali brutally slammed Ronda Rousey for baseless comparisons with her father Muhammed Ali’s legacy
Laila Ali never had any moral support for any sort of comparative study between her father, Muhammed Ali and Ronda Rousey.

The world of combat sports has always been a closely contested domain. Many names stood out as soon as someone coined the same term. Some of them include the likes of Ronda Rousey, Muhammed Ali, Conor McGregor and more. However, as far as female representation goes, Rousey held that baton for years. She’s regarded as one of the most dominant figures in MMA history.
She went undefeated for three years as the UFC Bantamweight Champion. Amidst her booming career in the UFC, she was offered miscellaneous roles in Hollywood too. Shortly after, the former Judoka gained mainstream prominence. Also, those 1000 days where she remained untouched, drew frequent comparisons from legendary boxer Muhammed Ali.
However, the one person who got offended the most by those comparisons was none other than Laila Ali, Muhammed Ali’s daughter. She’s etched herself as one of the greatest names in female boxing. During an interview with International Business Times in 2017, the undefeated boxer bashed Ronda Rousey. She asked everyone never again to compare The Arm Collector with The Louisville Lip.
Recalling Rousey’s humiliating 48-second loss against Amanda Nunes, Laila called The Baddest Woman on the Planet a ragdoll. Also, she iterated how her father never lost like that during his prime. Even after a three-year hiatus, Ali fights with sublime courage, unlike Ronda Rousey, according to Laila Ali.
“I’ve heard people say, ‘Well, Muhammad Ali lost, he’s still great. First of all, Muhammad Ali never lost like that. He never got in there and was made to look like a rag doll. He was in his prime, had to take time off, came back, fought the best, then he came back and had rematches against the best, so please don’t ever compare her to my father.”
Ronda Rousey has completely lost her shine in WWE
Its hard to say where it all started going downhill for Rousey in the WWE. But, since her comeback last year at the Royal Rumble, the Rowdy One isn’t hitting the same at all. Her stardom has almost reached its nadir. Most probably, this is the lowest point in her career as far as fan investment goes.
Right now, she’s paired alongside Shayna Baszler. They’re set for a Fatal-4-way Women’s Tag Title match next week on Raw. Even though they’ll eventually capture those belts, at this point, nobody could care less. The decision to turn Rousey heel has completely backfired at WWE. At SummerSlam last year, the former UFC ace adopted a villainous persona, which initially felt great.
However, her constant horrible booking decisions and her absurd promo skills made the matter worse. That’s one part Rousey’s always struggled with in WWE. In the past few months, there has been a call among fans to run a campaign against Rousey. They’re adamant about letting WWE know that they need to fire her.
