Lana doesn’t have too great of a wrestling career. However, she is widely known for her run as the manager of Rusev (now Miro in AEW), her husband. Rusev has been a great person in the ring with multiple opponents to his name.

There were many gimmick changes in Rusev’s WWE run and the one striking gimmick was ‘Rusev Day’. However, the management decided to do away with the gimmick in a very short span of time. Neither did they disclose the reason for the gimmick’s deletion.

The former manager, Lana was on ‘In The Kliq’ where she talked about various things of her WWE career. One of the highlights of her talk was Rusev’s run with the ‘Rusev Day’ gimmick which wasn’t very well taken by Vince McMahon and eventually led to his abrupt dissolution.

She told the audience that Vince loved Rusev as a heel and since he was the Steven Spielberg of the show, he decided to do away with Rusev’s original gimmick and made him into what he wanted him to be – a villain – “his Bulgarian Brute, 300 pounds, crazy, killing“.

This was the endpoint of the battle of thoughts. Since Vince McMahon was incharge of creative, there was no alternative to dominate the thoughts. It didn’t matter how much one fought, the management would work for the betterment of the company and the superstars would have no other option but to follow.

Rusev’s above mentioned gimmick ‘Rusev Day’ was not kept in the company for long and he was released in the COVID 19 budget cuts of the company. He later joined AEW and made a big name for himself in the company in the starting days of his career.

Apart from being the manager to Rusev, Lana has also taken steps in being a wrestler herself. However, it wasn’t a very successful run. She went against many celebrities but couldn’t prove herself to be a dominating force in the WWE.

Currently, both Lana and Rusev are out of WWE. The latest head of WWE creative – Triple H is on his way to bring a lot of superstars back to the ring. Can these two superstars be one of those who will soon be returning back to the WWE ring?
