In an absolute barn burner at Crown Jewel, Logan Paul became the brand new United States Champion. He ousted Rey Mysterio in the process, but not without a right jab flanked with brass knuckles. However, there came a moment when Mysterio was about to suffer a major injury. And that’s when The Maverick displayed excellent ring awareness to save the WWE legend’s life.

The moment came when Mysterio attempted to execute a springboard maneuver on Paul. However, the WWE HOF’er didn’t get enough purchase off the ring ropes and was about to fall right on his neck. Had Logan not caught Rey at the eleventh hour, the 48-year-old would’ve made the case for one of the most ugly landings to ever happen on live television.

Following that, the WWE Universe has been praising The Maverick for saving Rey Mysterio from suffering the injury. However, while talking about the exact spot during his Impaulsive podcast, the social media megastar dispelled such heroic claims.

Maintaining a fine line between his on-screen character and being a podcast host, the boxer-turned-wrestler said that while he did catch Rey at the right time, he was just doing his job. Logan said when Mysterio jumped on him, the former was too far back. Meanwhile, Rey didn’t clear enough ground. In a nutshell, Logan shrugged off anything and everything that made him look like a real-life hero.

That’s what happened like…I was too far back & he didn’t clear enough ground we both made a mistake & I had to catch him & I wasn’t gonna not catch him so like truthfully while I like the headlines & I like being gassed up like this, I was just doing my job.

Logan Paul recently flaunted the United States title at UFC 295

At the UFC 295 event, Logan Paul marked his presence alongside his fiancé, Nina Agdal. Not only that, The Maverick brought his United States title with him. In an arena full of mainstream personalities, Paul ensured a full-blown advertisement for WWE.

Moreover, he also gave a flagrant shout-out to fellow champion Dominik Mysterio. WWE has yet to announce Logan Paul’s first appearance since his newsworthy triumph at Crown Jewel. However, when he does come back, it would be interesting to see who tries to assert his claim on The Maverick’s gold.

Without even appearing on television for them just yet, he took the gold on a world tour. Recently, while appearing on Fox Business Live, Paul iterated that he’s done from boxing. Being unscratched at 25-0, he thinks it’s the perfect time to focus on his WWE commitments on a full-time basis.
