WWE NXT superstar Lyra Valkyria is all set to take on the NXT Women’s Champion Becky Lynch on the Halloween Havoc episode of NXT. This year, the Halloween special edition has been extended into a two-night event on October 24 and 31. In the recent edition of NXT, Valkyria seemed fired up ahead of her title match next week.
In a backstage segment, the 26-year-old tore a picture of her and Lynch up. The picture was taped over her changing room locker, as she considers Lynch her idol. Before ripping the picture apart, the NXT superstar said, “In one week your title is mine”. The buildup to Valkyria vs. Lynch has taken an interesting turn this week.
Earlier in the same night, Lyra Valkyria locked horns with Tegan Nox in a one-on-one match. The former clinched the victory after Chelsea Green and Piper Niven made their presence felt during the match. Following the match, Valkyria cut a fiery promo by stating that no one can come between her and her NXT Women’s Championship at Halloween Havoc.
The 26-year-old further said that it was always her dream to become the first Irish-born NXT Women’s Champion, but Lynch snatched that away from her. Thus, Lyra Valkyria has vowed to take down The Man and become the new NXT Women’s Champion. Going by the two superstars’ war-of-words from NXT, they will likely headline the night one of Halloween Havoc.
Becky Lynch predicts Lyra Valkyria’s future in WWE
Becky Lynch will put her title on the line against Lyra Valkyria on the Halloween Havoc episode of NXT. The two superstars may not see eye-to-eye at the moment. However, The Man has always made it clear that she has nothing but immense respect for the latter. In a recent interview, Lynch claimed that Valkyria will be a huge star in the future.
Speaking on My Love Letter To Wrestling via Wrestle Talk, the 36-year-old discussed about Irish-born wrestlers making their mark in WWE and showered praises on her current rival. Lynch said, “This all started 21 years ago, and to have at least five major stars in WWE that all came from that little Irish scene. We’ve got Sheamus, we’ve got Finn, we’ve got Jordan, and now we’ve got Lyra Valkyria, who is just phenomenal and is going to be a huge star in the future.”
Big Time Becks stated that WWE has created three major Irish-born superstars. Hailing from Ireland, the likes of Lynch, Balor, and Sheamus have carved out a decorated WWE career. Thus, Becky believes Valkyria will also be a major star going forward. Furthermore, Lynch also revealed talks about running a potential premium live event in Ireland.
