2K is days away from releasing its annual WWE game. Multiple members of the WWE Universe await the game’s release. Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, and Bianca Belair are the cover stars of WWE 2K24, releasing next week. Recently, CM Punk spoke about not being a part of the game, forcing 2K to make major changes.
Punk uploaded a video on his Instagram to share his thoughts about 2K not including him on the official roster. The Second City Saint revealed that he is not a big fan of the game and does not play it. But the Voice of the Voiceless raised his voice, his fans wanting to play as ‘CM Punk’ in the game. He urged his fans to raise their voices as well to get heard by 2K.
We did it! We were loud! They heard our voices! You wanted CM Punk in the WWE 2K24, you are gonna get it!CM Punk (via @WWEgames on X)
Just sometime after his reaction, 2K revealed the inclusion of the former AEW Champion in the highly anticipated game. Punk will be a part of the Season Pass DLC alongside Kairi Sane, Jade Cargill, Pat McAfee, and more. This news is shocking since 2K did not waste any time making his return to the WWE 2K series official. Meanwhile, Brock Lesnar will not be playable in the 2K24 game amid his alleged involvement in the s*x trafficking allegations.
CM Punk made his shocking return to WWE after almost a decade. Upon his return, he set his sights on WrestleMania and took part in the Royal Rumble match. Unfortunately, his triceps got injured in the match, forcing him to miss this year’s Showcase of Immortals. Therefore, he was sidelined from the Road to WrestleMania after getting attacked by Drew McIntyre.
The Undertaker reveals why he caused CM Punk to lose the World Heavyweight Championship
Although CM Punk was slated to have a one-on-one encounter with Seth “Freakin” Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XL, he held the coveted title back in 2009. However, Punk dropped his Title to The Undertaker at Hell in a Cell later in the year. Interestingly, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter detailed The Phenom’s conversation with Punk that led to the end of his reign.
The Deadman confronted the Straight Edge Superstar about his dressing sense. According to him, Punk was not suited to be a World Champion considering his appearance. However, the champ at that time replied by referring to John Cena. Punk claimed that he was not suited to be a champion either because of his fashion choice. However, The Lord of Darkness denied his stance and stood by his opinions.
In a shocking turn of events, WWE management took their altercation into their own hands and decided to strip Punk of the title. As a result, The Best in the World lost his title to The Undertaker. At the moment, the controversial superstar is on his road to recovery and will take nearly 6–8 months before he returns to challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship.
