On the Season Premiere of SmackDown last week, John Cena introduced LA Knight as Roman Reigns‘ latest challenger. He said that The Megastar has earned the right to finally upend The Tribal Chief. The entire segment went through with Knight imposing his passion to dethrone Reigns. In the meantime, Cena was surveying the scene from a corner. However, that was something not meant to happen, according to AEW talent scout Mark Henry.
During the latest episode of Busted Open Radio, the World’s Strongest Man discussed how John Cena overshadowed Roman Reigns and LA Knight during that confrontation. Even though the 16-time World Champion was acting second fiddle during the thing, Henry felt as if Cena was trying to draw attention. The AEW personality went a step further to recall one of the moments of his career where he did the same as John Cena, and it pissed someone off.
“The number one thing was [Cena] drawing attention to himself. You cannot [do that] when something is going on in the ring. I remember I did that with Ron Simmons one time. Because he said, ‘Shut the f*** up!’ on TV. [He meant,] ‘Don’t move, don’t say anything. I’m working,” said Henry.
The World’s Strongest Man did a segment with Ron Simmons, aka Farooq. Henry tried to act differently, and he eventually got the receipt. The latter told Mark to shut the f**k up. Coming back to Cena, the current AEW talent scout implied that John acted the way he did on SmackDown because he’s kind of an attention-seeker. He couldn’t help but bask in that energy from a packed arena.

John Cena might compete at Crown Jewel in November
WWE recently dispelled any uncertainty about John Cena’s participation in Crown Jewel by revealing the official poster for the event in Riyadh, prominently featuring the Cenation Leader at the forefront. This all but confirms Cena’s return to Saudi Arabia for his first WWE match there since 2018.

He only wrestled at the inaugural event against Triple H, but later pulled out of future events due to the numerous vicissitudes of working in the Middle East. However, the issues seem sorted out, and he will look to entertain a passionate audience in Saudi Arabia. As far as his opponent is concerned, it could be one of Roman Reigns’ goons.
WWE has teased a singles match between John Cena and Solo Sikoa on numerous occasions. Next month’s Crown Jewel could be the perfect opportunity to have this match. Irrespective of the result, The Franchise Player will get to perform in front of a vociferous crowd.
