WWE has been very serious with their programming decisions ever since their merger with the UFC to form TKO. The company has been making a number of deals lately, and some of them are concerning their TV network deals. Recently, a report surfaced on the internet that WWE is relatively close to finalizing a few deals.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE’s deal to move Raw from USA Network to Warner Bros. Discovery is not dead yet. Therefore, there are huge chances of Monday Night Raw moving to WBD. However, if WWE closes a deal with Warner Bros. for Raw, they have to spend at least $350 million per year.
Just got to wait it out and see. The main thing though is WWE and WBD is not a dead deal and it appeared to be a dead deal before. If they take the deal, it would require WBD to spend well over $350 million per year…WBD may not want to go that high anyway.WON on WWE’s deal with WBD
Besides, WWE’s NXT is also set to switch networks, as it will move from the USA Network to The CW. Moreover, Dave Meltzer also noted that there are high chances of Raw moving from Monday nights to some other night of the week. In addition to all this, the report also suggests that some more pieces of information will be available in two weeks moving forward.
It will be keen to see the dynamics of the networks after signing a deal with WWE. Fans must be wondering if there would be any major changes in programming, and there is a high chance of the shows getting fresh and separate stages in 2024. However, only time will tell where the brands will have their places in the schedules of these new media networks.
SmackDown might move to USA Network
The scenes in WWE are surely about to change as the company is on the verge of signing new deals for their shows. As reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Raw might be heading to WBD in 2024. WWE’s SmackDown is also likely to move to the USA Network for a five-year deal starting next year.
Moreover, it also suggests that WWE is getting a 40% raise in their feel while being on USA Network. SmackDown was a FOX show from 2019 and had a great time on the network. However, FOX has been sidelined from WWE since their merger with the UFC.
Fans have been wondering if this major shift in programming will be beneficial for the company. SmackDown is a home for stars like Roman Reigns, Charlotte Flair, and Randy Orton. Therefore, it certainly holds value. It is going to be interesting to see the future of the Blue Brand in 2024.
