“September 23, 1974 – August 31, 2011” Matt Hardy scared the sh*t out of people after posting a suicide note
Matt Hardy on WWE Raw
Matt Hardy is no new name in the wrestling business. He has stepped in almost all possible brands of professional wrestling and has a great career in all of them. He has multiple championships to his name both as an individual player as well as in tag team with his brother Jeff Hardy.
Hardy made his first WWE departure after which he joined Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). However, he was suspended from the same for making late appearances at the show. Later on the same day, he was arrested for Driving Under Influence (DUI). He hit his car on a tree but fortunately did not suffer from any kind of injury.
Both these incidents had a great effect on him. He took to Youtube to post a message for his fans which seemed much of a suicide note. The fans were in an utter state of shock after reading the message.
“Goodbye, World… My time here is Almost complete…I only have a few hours & minutes…I loved you all…Regardless of how you felt about me…I’ll miss you all…September 23, 1974 – August 31, 2011,” Hardy had written. The video was taken down from the platform and he also expressed his apology on the matter.
Matt Hardy is apologetic for his note
Hardy clarified that the message was a retirement message from his in-ring performances. Talking on his recent ‘Extreme Life of Matt Hardy’ podcast, he revealed that he still regrets posting the video on Youtube. He did not think of the audience’s perception of the message.
He revealed that he feels bad about everyone who read the message. It was intended to mark a new beginning in his life. He apologised to everyone who read the note. He accepted the fact the note did seem like the same.
He really regrets having said that. Additionally, he said that his mind “was just trying to take a shocking path, but it was the wrong path, and it was just so, so bad, and so, so fu*ked up and so poorly, poorly done”.
Matt Hardy took his last departure from the WWE ring in 2020. However, he promised to return the same for all that he had to offer to the company. Following his statement, WWE declared that their contract with Hardy has expired.
