Bray Wyatt‘s unfortunate demise left everyone shattered to the core. No matter how much this industry progresses, no one will ever fill Wyatt’s void. After a brief halt due to the hurricane in Florida, the family finally cremated the deceased’s soul this past Wednesday. Apart from Wyatt’s colleagues and officials from WWE, several AEW names were also there for the funeral.
The credit for making it possible entirely goes to Tony Khan. As revealed by Matt Hardy during his podcast, the AEW owner ensured that his superstars could attend Bray Wyatt’s final services without any thorns in the bushes. For this purpose, Khan sent a private jet to the designated location. “He sent a jet down there, carried all the AEW talents up to TV in Indianapolis. I was very grateful for that”, said Hardy.
Matt Hardy showed his gratitude to Tony Khan for such a special gesture. Moreover, Hardy revealed how the moment turned more emotional as he reunited with his WWE family. However, all had tears in their eyes, as nobody would’ve wanted to catch up on the expense of Bray Wyatt’s passing. Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt were a tag team in WWE. Their alliance wasn’t a bedlam of roses, as it eventually blossomed after their initial rift with each other.
Needless to say, it feels awesome to see everyone march with camaraderie in adverse conditions. If anything, the incident has proven that Tony Khan cares for his employees. He could’ve avoided taking the long route, as AEW Dynamite fell later that day.
Tony Khan had a tough time firing CM Punk from AEW
The backstage incident at AEW All In transpired with Tony Khan potentially making the boldest decision of his professional career. Adhering to the advice of a disciplinary committee, the Jaguars owner fired CM Punk. According to his official statement, he stated that he felt his safety along with that of his innocent employees was jeopardized. As a result, Khan made the call to terminate Phillip Brooks.
AEW has let go of Ace Steel as well. He was Punk’s trainer, re-hired months ago on CM Punk’s return. However, none of them are with the company as of now. There have been rumors that an ‘explosive response’ might be coming Tony Khan’s way, courtesy of The Best in the World. If that drops sooner than later, a lot of secrets may pop out.
