Despite having served as the special guest referee for Riddle’s Fight Pit match in NXT, Angle cited financial reasons for rejecting the managerial role.

On his Kurt Angle Show podcast, the former WWE Champion revealed that the financial aspect played a crucial role in his decision. He clarified that the offer to manage Matt Riddle fell short of his expectations. Angle expressed that the compensation needed to be more appealing for him to consider the role.

 They didn’t want to give me that much money and it was like, ‘Okay. I would love to manage Matt, but you gotta give me a little bit more money than that.
