Sasha Banks, a.k.a. Mercedes Mone is still making moves while being injured. Recently, she took to Twitter and posted a snap of herself from her upcoming action thriller, The Collective. She had already shot for the film back in December last year. At that juncture, there wasn’t any further information on her role. However, the case is clear now. She’s one of the righteous assassins in the movie.

The official trailer for this Tom DeNucci directed film has been released on YouTube. Apparently, the VFX and screening look unfathomable. The story revolves around a human trafficking ring that is backed by numerous billionaires. The Collectives had to put their money on a novice. Furthermore, it remains to be seen how the movie performs in theaters once it gets released. The planned date for the release is August 4, 2023.

Sasha Banks’ fans are eagerly waiting for her debut film. That being said, the former WWE superstar aims to bag more enticing roles in the future as well. She has openly expressed her willingness to pursue a career in Hollywood alongside wrestling. Her ridiculously packed schedule with WWE kept preventing her from doing so. However, given that she’s currently signed with NJPW, it’s a breath of fresh air for her.

Her controversial walkout from WWE last year isn’t a secret to anyone. There were a few reports suggesting that The Boss could make her way back to the company. However, Banks chose not to return to her former company. It has proven beneficial for her to some extent. Since joining NJPW, Mercedes has been making moves all around the globe.

Banks has been out of in-ring competition after injuring her right ankle at NJPW: Resurgence. She was penciled in to defeat Willow Nightingale at the event to become the inaugural Strong Women’s Champion. Due to Merecedes Mone’s midway tragedy, the finish was improvised on the spot. That saw Nightingale grab an immensely huge victory over The Blueprint.

Had Mone never gotten hurt, fans would’ve seen The Mandalorian actress make her AEW debut too this year. As reported by Sports Illustrated, she held business talks with AEW President & CEO Tony Khan. People close to the situation indicated that the two parties were figuring out ways to make the first move and have the former WWE superstar perform in the Jacksonville-based promotion.

However, Sasha Banks’ injury threw everything out of window. For now, she’ll stay away from in-ring competition for at least 3-4 months. Fans could expect her to return before the end of this year. She’s hellbent on making the most of this phase of her career. Surely there’s more to this Mercedes Mone story.
