He has been appearing on WWE programming regularly lately. Recently, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley revealed the conversation he had with CM Punk just after he left WWE in 2014.
On WWE’s The Bump show, Mick Foley divulged that Punk told him that he was leaving the company in order to earn respect. He added that he and the Straight Edge Superstar were close back then, and Punk was emotional during the time. Furthermore, The Deranged One praised Punk for achieving what he believed while leaving WWE in 2014.

Besides, Foley stated that the Second City Saint is bigger than ever. He has achieved absolute greatness after almost a decade since his last match in WWE. According to a report from Fightful Select via Wrestling Inc., CM Punk was present backstage during the NXT tapings this week. It states that he had a wholesome attitude during his time as he was watching matches, interacting with the young talents, and also performing Shawn Michaels’s various public endorsements.
Moreover, the report even went so far as to state that Punk might succeed Shawn Michaels in his role overseeing NXT and developmental. It is incredible to see this new side of the Second City Saint. His return to WWE has surely changed the times in WWE. It is going to be interesting to see him compete in the ring for the very first time since 2014, as he will face Dominik Mysterio later this month.
