Besides their regular TV Programming, WWE runs several popular shows. One of them is The Bump which hosts several superstars every week. This week’s guests were Mick Foley and Drew McIntyre. Foley was questioned about the Royal Rumble season. It seems the Hardcore Legend was about to divulge his plans for Royal Rumble but then he stopped himself short.

As can be seen in the video, the former 3-time World Champion was talking about how people get together in the Rumble to celebrate and how he would love to tune in to watch it. Amidst this, he spoke about how he may get closer to the match rather than just seeing it.

On Royal Rumble, people get together and celebrate. It really makes people happy. So I’ll be tuned in, and maybe I’ll be…no, here’s the thing; I would have to lose 70 pounds just to be in terrible shape, so I am not going to be there.

Foley explained how with his current shape, he has a lot of hoops to pass through. Even if he manages to shed a whopping 70 lbs, he is still not convinced that he’ll be able to deliver in the squared circle.

When one thinks of Foley, one can’t help but recall the 1998 Royal Rumble Match. He amazed the audience by alternating between his 3 distinct personas: Mankind, Cactus Jack and Dude Love. Moreover, his last night as an active wrestler also came during a Royal Rumble Match in 2012. It was eventually won by Sheamus.

Mick Foley graced the WWE fans once again as he appeared on WWE’s The Bump. He talked at length about various subjects, one of which was picking up his favorite for the Royal Rumble 2024 match. Without much delay, he revealed the American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes as his pick. Foley is eager to see him finish the story.

I would love to see Cody [Rhodes] back in the main event picture. I really would. I think that's the perfect ending to his story. He earned something more important than that WWE Title. He earned the respect of all the naysayers.

As many fans know, winning the Royal Rumble Match is like gaining a springboard to the main event of WrestleMania. His previous win at Royal Rumble 2023 propelled him to the main event of WrestleMania 39. To finish his story, the American Nightmare needs to find his place once again in the main event at the Grandest stage-of-them-all.
