Mick Foley is one of the greatest wrestlers in the history of WWE. Known for his extreme matches, Foley has many controversies to his name. His match with the Undertaker in the ‘Hell in a Cell’ remains one of the most deadly matches in the company. Retiring from the ring in 2012, he still made various appearances at the show and has been controlling the management of the company since then.
WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley might have retired from the ring almost a decade back, but his interest in WWE hasn’t left. He still actively participates in any event that happens in the WWE Universe. He recently, in his ‘Foley Is Pod’ podcast revealed the name of the late female superstar who deserves to be in the WWE Hall of Fame.
Mick Foley acknowledges Nancy Benoit’s legacy
Foley spoke of the late superstar Nancy Benoit to be included in the same. Nancy had quite a great career in professional wrestling and worked for WCW. 2007 June contained a shocking day for the entire world of professionalism. Nancy Benoit was murdered along with her 7 year old son Daniel Christopher Benoit by her husband Chris Benoit. Following the two murders, he hanged himself. The family was found dead at their place and investigations revealed the possible scenario. People have framed various speculations about Chris the event majorly the use of steroids and alcohol.
Speaking about the legacy of Nancy, Mick Foley said, “The three different runs she’s had, she’s really deserving of more recognition. The holy grail is the WWE Hall of Fame. I think eventually it’s going to happen, I don’t know if it’s going to happen in the next few years though.” He is very hopeful of the fact that she will make it to the WWE Hall of Fame one day.
“I think you want to give those a few years, you know? It’s tough when you induct someone posthumously and the deaths are not by natural causes. I think you gotta space them out a little bit,” added Mick Foley on Nancy’s induction to the WWE Hall of Fame.
